Liddell vs Franklin

UFC 115 set to take place in Vancouver, Canada, will bring back into the famed UFC octagon two mixed martial arts legends: Chuck Liddell and Rich Franklin. The highly anticipated event will be the fourth UFC event to be held in Canada (UFC 83, UFC 97, UFC 113 and UFC 115) and will be the very first UFC event held in British Columbia since local officials passed a bill to provisionally sanction MMA.

Chuck Liddell

Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell (full name: Charles David Liddell”) is a professional American mixed martial arts fighter and former UFC light heavyweight champion. Liddell boasts experience in the striking disciplines of Kenpo karate, Koei-Kan karate and kickboxing. Moreover, Liddell’s striking style is complemented by a solid background in collegiate wrestling.

Chuck Liddell is widely regarded as a UFC legend since he (along with Tito Ortiz) holds the most UFC fights with 22 in total. Liddell was also inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame on 10 July 2009. Among UFC Hall of fame inductees are Royce Gracie, Ken Shamrock, Randy Couture and Mark Coleman.

Rick Franklin

Rick Franklin is a southpaw mixed martial arts fighter and former UFC middleweight champion who boasts a freestyle fighting style with solid kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai skills.

Franklin, who trains out of Cincinnati, Ohio with Team Extreme, has notable victory against the Brazilian striker Wanderlei Silva, Evan Tanner and Ken Shamrock.

Following his victory over Shamrock, Franklin was awarded a title shot against Evan Tanner at UFC 53 on 4 June 2005, which he defeated in round 4 at 3:25 with a technical knockout.
